How are moles removed on the face? Do they leave scars?

My mole is not that elevated off my face, and is not that big. What do they do, and will i be left with a scar? How are moles removed on the face? Do they leave scars?
you get a local anesthetic woth a tiney thin needle, then they use a scalpel to scrape it off. THey send it to a lab to be sure it isn't cancer (ALL growths, so no big deal). Rarely they see 'roots' or some indicatin the growth is deeper, then they excise the entire depth of it. Only the largest leave any scar at all, and that is usually temporary and light anyway. Most excisions don't even need stitches, uinless large or in an area that has a lot of tension, like corner of mouth. Doc may tell you there is no reason to remove it, unless it bothers youHow are moles removed on the face? Do they leave scars?
Sometimes they can just give it a scrape, but if there's a root to it, then they have to dig it out, and yes, that can leave a scar. You can't tell by the outside, what's down under! I had one on my upper cheek which was small, and just a bit above the skin, but the plastic surgeon had to do some serious work on it - and many years later, the little scar is still there, and it still itches!
